San Diego County, CA Resort-Style Oasis

 This past October, I took a trip to San Diego with friends and family. We had the pleasure of staying in a private home – truly a resort in itself.
Casa de Allegra has its own beautiful pool, hot tub, outdoor kitchen and BBQ – complete with plenty of counter space, sink, refrigerator and bar – with a putting green just beyond, plus a large park-like setting with swings and a slide for the kids. With all it has to offer, you’ll never want to leave.
Each room, from master to guest bedroom, is beautifully appointed with its own personal theme. The large master bedroom affords lovely views of Buena Vista Lagoon and a peaceful sitting area. Kids will love either of the twin bedrooms, one a pirate’s room and the other a princess’s retreat.
Conveniently located just off I-5, Casa de Allegra is within walking distance to Cassidy Street Beach and is just a few minutes’ drive to Oceanside Pier and Carlsbad beaches. Our host provides bicycles, boogie boards, a cooler, beach chairs and plenty of beach towels – everything you’ll need to enjoy a day at the beach.
 In addition to the ocean, several points of interest are nearby:
- LEGOLAND (8 minutes)
- Several golf courses (within 15 minutes)
- San Diego Wild Animal Park (30 minutes)
- Sea World (30 minutes)
- San Diego Zoo (35 minutes)
- Disneyland (45 minutes)
Some tips on visiting San Diego:
- Book well in advance. This is a popular destination during summer vacation. Or visit during the off-season to avoid the lines and crowds at the parks.
- Give yourself plenty of time to fully enjoy all there is to do. A full week stay is a must.
- Do relax and enjoy breakfast or dinner on the patio while the kids work off their energy in the pool or playground area. With a grocery store nearby, you can plan a few meals in, and don’t forget to pick up some fresh seafood for grilling.
- Don’t miss a walk on the beach at sunset. A truly memorable experience.
