National Cherry Festival in Traverse City, MI
Where can you find the world’s largest cherry pie? Traverse City. For eighty years, the town has hosted the National Cherry Festival, an eight-day festival that celebrates and promotes cherries along Lake Michigan’s shore.
Attracting a half million people largely from the Midwest, the festival features a wide range of events which appeal to the entire family.
Adults will enjoy the arts and crafts fair, wine tastings and nightly musical performances at the Bayside Entertainment Stage. Teens will love the US Navy Blue Angel Air Show, carnival midway games and firework displays. Kids can compete in contests like the Bubble Gum Blow, Pet Show or Big Wheel Race. Babies can crawl their way to victory in the Diaper Derby and Toddler Trot.
